President’s Message
“A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman,” wisely stated Melinda Gates. Indeed, women are a precious gift from God, embodying qualities such as creativity, sensitivity, compassion, intelligence, and talent. Recognizing that a woman serves as the backbone of the family, and consequently the society, emphasizes the critical role women play in shaping the world around us.
As women, we are not merely confined to a designated space; instead, we have the power and responsibility to build a broader, more inclusive place for ourselves. We must become torchbearers of empowerment, acknowledging that each of us is a protagonist in this transformative journey.
Real change begins at the grassroots level—the parish. Women need to take on a more significant role in the life and mission of the parish, guiding and mentoring families, youth, children, and participating actively in crucial ministries such as faith formation, learning, education, and community building.
Drawing inspiration from St. Monica, our patron, let us not only be energized and motivated but also be ignited in our minds to adopt innovative means to realize the vision, mission, goals, and guidelines of the Women’s Commission. May we collectively embody the complete expression of dignity and vocation, contributing to the flourishing of our communities and society as a whole.
Let us unite in the spirit of empowerment and be catalysts for positive change.
Warm regards,
Neelam Chopra
