ST. IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA PARISH, BHIWADI

I, Mrs. Suzan Fernandes, the president of women’s commission of St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, Bhiwadi, would like to share my thoughts on the training we held in our church.

Mrs Anifa, Mrs. Marina and myself had taken part in the training of ‘women’s empowerment’ which was held at Jaipur, organized and supervised by Mrs. Neelam Chopra on September 7 th , 2025. Here we came to know about “what a woman is capable of doing?” After our return from the training program, we had held the same training for our parish women and we explained to them their role and importance of women in the Church and Society.

After some discussion with the group we decided to conduct the program for the parish women’s commission on the 12 th of October, 2025. It was held in the school hall from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. Soon after the Sunday Mass we headed towards the hall and had tea and some eatables arranged by our women’s cell of our parish and at 10 a.m. After the tea we started our training with a short prayer and the blessing of our parish priest Fr. Sebastian, A. There were 29 members including, Sisters Maria, Shiny, and Jyoti from FSLG Congregation.

The training course consisted of 3 parts and it included 7 lessons and it was equally divided among three of us, who were the trainees i.e., Anifa, Marina and Suzan.

The lessons mainly depended on the role of women in the society and the strength she holds in herself.

We explained that a Woman is powerful and capable of doing anything. A woman is a symbol of love, kindness, boldness and purity.

A woman plays the role of a daughter, a sister, a mother, a wife, and a daughter in law. A woman is all-rounder. God without even asking has already blessed women with all these roles and she has made God proud because she has excelled in all of her roles.

Just as there is an example in the Bible of Queen Esther, that how with her courage she conquered over her enemies and saved her people we, the women are born fighters and born leaders.

A woman sacrifices herself for the happiness of others…just as our Mother Mary, Mother of God sacrificed her only son for us.

A woman is the light to the world. A woman should be the backbone for other women, so that they can come forward without any hesitance and show to the world that they have light within them that can brighten up the entire human race.

The strength of a woman cannot be measured. She is so strong that she can be a warrior and at the same time a mother too.

In our society, we can see many women who have willingly come forward for the welfare of the community and their people. Likewise, it’s our, responsibility to come forward by facing all the odds and do great things for our community and our society.

R.S. Grey an author said, “She believed she could, and so she did.” It’s the belief that a woman has in herself that makes all things possible by her.
There are many more things to be said of women but this page has limited space, so I cannot write further, but indeed I will share more thought in future if God gives us the opportunity to do so.

Along with all these we had organized some fun filled interacting games for women. They participated with full enthusiasm in these activities. There were sounds of laughter and joy throughout the meeting and all had great fun.

At last training came to an end with a small talk given by Sr. Maria, her words of encouragement filled our hearts with the fire of doing something wonderful and uplifting all the women and after this all the participants had lunch provided by our parish priest Fr. Sebastian, A. Our heartfelt thanks, to him for his generous support and for his good will.

And a big thank you Mrs. Neelam for your guidance by which this training was possible.

Last but not the least, a huge thank you for my team and the members of entire women cell of our parish for rendering your support and willingness due to which this program became a huge success.

I hope in future we conduct more such programs, so that we can be a role model for our upcoming generations.

Thank you.
Mrs. Suzan Fernandes
