The CCBI Women’s Commission – Agra Regional Meeting, held at the Allahabad Bishop House from 4th to 7th June, concluded on a meaningful and inspiring note with active participation of 46 women representatives across the Agra Region region. The four-day programme focused on GOAL 2 , leadership development, faith formation, gender sensitivity, safeguarding, and future planning for diocesan initiatives.
The meeting commenced on 4 June with registration, an introductory session by Ms Pancy Thomas , and informal interaction by Ms. Neelam Chopra among the participants, followed by the Rosary, dinner, and fellowship.
The second day began with Morning Prayer and Holy Mass, followed by the lighting of the lamp, welcome address, and felicitation of Chief Guests Most Rev. Bishop Joseph Kallarckal ( CCBI Chairman & Bishop of Jaipur Diocese) , Most Rev Bishop Louis Mascarenhas ( Bishop of Allahabad Diocese) by Pancy Thomas, Agra Regional Secretary. Participants were then addressed by Bishop Joseph Kallarackal, whose message encouraged commitment and collaborative leadership.
A session by Rev. Fr. Babu on Gender Sensitization further enriched the gathering before the afternoon discussions. Interactive group discussions formed an important part of the programme, with delegates divided into smaller groups to deliberate on key issues and present their reports.
An insightful session by Dr. E. Robert on “Sex and Gender” provided valuable perspectives, while another session by Rev. Sr. Daya focused on CCBI Women Commission guidelines and awareness.
On the third day, Mrs. Kajal shared her experience of the National Training Programme, inspiring participants to implement similar initiatives in their own dioceses. Each diocese also prepared an Action Plan for year 2026 tailored to its local needs focusing on GOAL 2 , followed by further discussions, presentations and evaluation.
The final day featured an Open House chaired by Ms. Pancy Thomas, allowing participants to share reflections and recommendations.
A major highlight of the fourth day was a special session by Most Rev. Bishop Joseph Kallarackal on the theme “The Role of Women in Building a Healthy Catholic Family.” The Bishop emphasized the vital role of women as faith leaders, nurturers of Christian values, and pillars of strong family life, encouraging participants to become agents of positive change within their homes and communities.
A special session conducted by Neelam Chopra addressed important topics related to POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences), reinforcing the importance of safe and inclusive environments.
The concluding programme included the elections for the posts of Treasurer and Editor, the announcement of the new Secretary, and a heartfelt farewell to Pancy Ma’am, recognizing her dedicated service and contributions. A group photograph and lunch marked the close of the regional meeting before the participants departed.

The gathering successfully strengthened unity among the dioceses and equipped participants with practical knowledge, renewed enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to advancing the mission of the CCBI Women’s Commission in the Agra Region.
