On 14th September, the three Commissions of the Diocese — the Women’s Commission, the Laity Commission, and the Mental Health Ministry — came together under one roof for a significant and inspiring Recognition Event followed by an engaging Mental Health Session.
The day was marked by a spirit of unity, collaboration, and shared purpose, reflecting the Diocese’s commitment to recognizing the invaluable contributions of the faithful and promoting holistic well-being. The event brought together parish leaders, community members, and awardees to celebrate service, dedication, and the importance of mental health in strengthening both individuals and the Church community. This gathering served as a platform to honour exemplary work, inspire participation, and foster a sense of belonging among all attendees.
This collaborative initiative was jointly led by:
- Ms. Neelam Chopra, Director of the Women’s Commission
- Rev. Fr. Jaipal Singh, Director of the Mental Health Ministry
- Mr. Ajay Jose, Director of the Laity Commission
The Guests of Honour for the occasion were:
- Mr. Abhishek Siddha, District Minority Officer, Jaipur
- Mrs. Aruna Massey, General Manager, World Trade Park, Jaipur
- Dr. Anju Sharma, Coordinator, Indira Gandhi National Open University
The program commenced with the Lighting of the Lamp Ceremony, symbolizing the presence of God’s light and blessings. The Guests of Honour, along with the three Commission Directors, jointly lit the ceremonial lamp, marking the auspicious beginning of the day.
This was followed by a Welcome Address by Ms. Neelam Chopra, Director of the Women’s Commission, who warmly greeted the participants and set the tone for the event.
The Recognition Event was organized to honour the dedicated service of the lay faithful, acknowledging their invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to the mission of the Church. The event celebrated their tireless efforts in community service, spiritual guidance, and social initiatives, highlighting the transformative impact of their work within parishes and society at large. Certificates of appreciation were presented to each awardee as a mark of gratitude.
The gathering was further enriched with Words of Motivation by Dr. Anju Sharma, whose encouraging message inspired all present to continue serving with dedication and compassion.
An impactful Mental Health Session was then conducted by Rev. Fr. Jaipal Singh, Director of the Mental Health Ministry. His session focused on the importance of emotional well-being, stress management, and self-care practices in today’s fast-paced world. He highlighted practical strategies to cope with anxiety, maintain mental balance, and build resilience in daily life. The session also emphasized the role of community support, empathy, and spiritual guidance in promoting holistic mental health. Participants were encouraged to recognize early signs of distress and seek help without hesitation.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Ajay Jose, Director of the Laity Commission, who expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the program.
At the end of the program, a group photograph was clicked to commemorate the occasion, followed by a sumptuous breakfast shared by all attendees, adding a warm and celebratory conclusion to a meaningful day.
The day ended with a renewed sense of purpose, unity, and commitment to strengthen both the Church and society through collaborative efforts.
