On 18th May 2025, the faithful of St. John the Baptist Church came together to celebrate International Mother’s Day and International Nurses’ Day with great reverence and joy. The celebration began with a Eucharistic Mass led by Rev. Fr. George Brito, setting a solemn and grateful tone for the day.
The liturgy was prepared and conducted by the women and nurses of the parish, highlighting their dedication and active involvement in the spiritual life of the Church. A melodious choir, led by the youth members, added a spiritual richness to the Mass. The offertory was also offered by the ladies, symbolizing their devotion and gratitude. The youth took charge of coordinating the overall program with energy and enthusiasm.
Towards the end of the celebration, Fr. George Brito presented each mother and nurse with a rosary, a symbolic gesture honouring Mother Mary and encouraging daily prayer. This thoughtful act served as a reminder of the nurturing and healing spirit that both mothers and nurses embody in their service to families and the community.
The celebration concluded with a deep sense of gratitude and joy, acknowledging the vital roles mothers and nurses play in shaping a compassionate and caring world. A group photograph was taken at the end to capture the joyful memories of the day.
